How you will create an impact

Become a part of a tight knit team of Business Package underwriters, providing business package solutions for both new and renewal business to our broking network for their SME clients.   You will also be accountable for developing and maintaining broker relationships, which includes a strategic engagement and visitation plan – ensuring visibility of AIG in the market. As a senior Underwriter you will also mentor and train junior members of the team and assist with strategic planning.

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

Under general direction has responsibility for the sales and underwriting of multi-line Commercial Lines business within the Business Package Profit Centre.Establishes maintains and grows relationships with targeted brokers and agents.Actively engages in the sales process, driving GWP growth on assigned target accounts.Engaging with broker management to engage a strategy for each broking business allocated to you.Identification, qualification, development and marketing of homogenous high-volume mono or multi line product and service opportunities.Quote and underwrite new and renewal opportunities.Manage referrals from other members of the team

What you’ll need to succeed

Extensive Knowledge of Commercial property and casualty underwriting for SME’sUnderstands key business drivers in the SME segmentClient-orientated with the ability to build and maintain successful relationshipsOther relevant experience (i.e. in the insurance industry as an insurance broker, claims handler, reinsurance underwriter, risk manager or equivalent)Experience within commercial insurance/finance/legal environment, including exposure to clients and/or intermediariesAwareness of developments and trends in the commercial sector having insurance implications
