Senior Ultrasound Technologist (Vascular Focus) - East Valley Region
Description This position will support the East Valley Region, primarily in the North Hollywood Imaging Center. The East Valley Region is currently made up of UCLA Health Santa Clarita Imaging and Interventional Center, UCLA Health Porter Ranch Primary & Specialty Care, UCLA Health North Hollywood Imaging and Interventional Center, and UCLA Health MPTF Toluca Lake Primary Care. This position participates in on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules, prepared by the manager and supports one of the medical centers in the UCLA Health system. In this role, you will: + Have a broad range of knowledge in General Ultrasound and a deep understanding of complex Vascular Ultrasound and Vascular Physiologic Testing + Provide age-appropriate assessment and interventions to meet the needs of patients and families served + Obtain, evaluate and use information from the patient requisition, medical records, referring physician and correlate with acquired images + Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology + Use independent judgment to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing diagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our interpreting physicians + Extend courtesy to our patients, family members, visitors and co-workers through our 'World Class Practices' Service Standards + Share knowledge and provide development in Vascular Ultrasound Technology to our team of Ultrasound Technologists Senior Sonographer (Advancement into Senior Sonographer job classification will be assessed after 6 months with UCLA Health): + Minimum of four years of prior experience within the hospital / acute care setting + Must maintain Active RDMS certification in three specialties: Abdomen, OB-GYN and RVT + Proficient in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Pediatric and Vascular Sonography. Additionally, proficiency in interventional procedures + Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred + Staff Salary Range: $62.43 - $76.12 Hourly + Senior Salary Range: $55.94 - $73.81 Hourly Salary Range (Staff through Senior): $55.94 - $76.12 Hourly Qualifications _Please ensure your resume and application includes all_ _relevant certifications and licenses._ _Senior Ultrasound Technologist_ + 4 years of prior acute care (hospital) experience - required (Advancement into Senior job classification will be assessed after 6 months with UCLA Health) + RDMS credential in Abdomen, OBGYN and RVT - required _General Requirements_ * Ability to work with other sonographers to provide direction and training in the specialized area of Vascular Ultrasound, in addition to General Ultrasound - required * BLS/CPR Certificate - required * Graduate of CAAHAP ultrasound program - strongly preferred * AAS or higher in Medical Sonography - preferred * RDMS (AB, OB/GYN and RVT) - minimum requirement Advanced skills in Vascular ultrasound - preferred * Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff and others in a professional and courteous manner * Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately * Ability to employ independent decision making, prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks to completion within allotted time * Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness * Basic typing skills to input various data into RIS and HIS Information systems. * Knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses UCLA Health welcomes all individuals, without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin or disabilities, and we proudly look to each person’s unique achievements and experiences to further set us apart.
