Senior Typist
***This position is a Competitive Civil Service Position and requires the applicant to be: + Reachable on an existing Dutchess County Human Resources Certification of Eligible List; or, + Currently working in, or previously held a Typist civil service title. + Other candidates who have equivalent education and licensing are encouraged to apply and will be considered as allowed per Civil Service regulations. ___________________________ Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time 12-Month Senior Typist. This position is in the Department of Human Resources at the Central Administration Office and is a Confidential Non-Unit position . This position is responsible for the accurate performance of a wide variety of increasingly difficult keyboarding and clerical duties and requires attention to detail, computer expertise and the ability to multitask under pressure. Typical work may include but is not limited to the following: + Performs clerical support functions including project management, database management, record maintenance, skilled keyboarding, calendar management and department reception; + Orders supplies for the department; + Directs telephone and in-person callers and provides routine information and assistance; + Other duties as required by the department Administrator For additional information please refer to: Senior Typist Job Qualifications Qualifications + Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma AND: EITHER: + (A) Completion of thirty (30) college credits; OR: + (B) Possession of a certificate from a business/secretarial school; OR: + (C) One (1) year of full-time clerical experience, that included the performance of skilled keyboarding duties; OR: + (D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated in (A), (B) and (C) above.
