Job Description

AECOM is hiring a Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer to take charge of high-impact travel demand modeling and transportation planning projects. This is your opportunity to drive innovation, shape smarter infrastructure, and deliver solutions that move communities forward.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, calibrate, and apply travel demand modelsCalibrate mode choice and other logit modelsDevelop and apply dynamic traffic assignment and multimodal forecasting modelsConduct project evaluations for Alternatives Analysis/DEISLead technical discussions with clientsMentor associate staff through project work Review technical analysis for accuracy and qualityPrepare technical reports and presentations

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 Bachelor’s in Engineering, Planning, Applied Math, or related field Eight years in transportation planning or related experience or demonstrated equivalency of   experience and/or education Five years of experience in transportation modeling Proficiency and experience  in one or more modeling packages: CUBE, TransCAD, VISUM, VISSIM,   TRANSIMS,   DynusT, or ActivitySim Experience and Demonstrated programming skills in at least one language: Python, R, C++, or other Experience with Microsoft Excel 

Preferred Requirements:

Master’s or PhD in a related fieldPE license or ability to obtain within 1 yearKnowledge and familiarity with MPO or DOT modeling practicesKnowledge of federal transportation planning regulations (e.g., FHWA, FTA)Experience with activity-based modelsExperience with toll-modelingExperience with one or more: web programming, PowerBI/Tableau dashboards, Azure/AWS, AI/MLExperience in analytical and problem-solving
