The Senior Transportation Manager is responsible for the overall efficiency of the transportation operations. The position has responsibility for all transportation related expenses and seeks to minimize costs while optimizing utilization of all transportation assets. (S)he seeks to provide the most cost-effective methods to deliver products to our customers, as well as bringing in product to the organization’s different branches.
\nEssential Duties:
\n\nOversee multiple and different distribution operations \nOversees all transportation activities as well as the safety of delivery associates to meet defined standards\nEnsures the transportation management team maintains compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.). \nReviews and identifies opportunities to reduce labor hours, travel, fuel and supplies within the department while increasing efficiency, service levels, and reducing cost. \nGuides and supports team in maintaining all delivery staffing levels within the department.\nDirects & continually monitors management staff is ensuring delivery associate adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes and provide safe and efficient customer service. \nManages the proper utilization of company assets in support of the operation.\nEnsures adequate equipment is available to service all customers and meet service metrics\nMonitors customer service levels, reviews and analyzes practices for improvement.\nStrives to continuously improve all areas of fleet operations while communicating new procedures/policies.\nMaintains direct communication with Sales leadership to review and evaluate opportunities.\nDirects management functions of staff selection, discipline performance reviews and/or terminations.\nDrives appropriate coaching, mentoring and development across the team to ensure timely training and consistent enforcement of Company Policies and Procedures. \nResponsible for meeting associate engagement and retention standards\nOther duties as assigned. \n\nQualifications:
\n\nBachelor’s degree and 3+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience\n3+ year supervisory experience\nExperience working in a food-service distribution environment preferred\nCDL Class A Commercial license preferred\nWorking knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Carrier Regulations\nExperience developing a safety culture preferred\nMust be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.\n\nShamrock anticipates closing the application window for this job opportunity on or before December 31, 2025
