As a Senior Trading Analyst, you will have the unique opportunity to optimize PGE's energy portfolio and make a positive financial impact in wholesale and organized energy markets. You will develop advanced trading strategies, conduct market modeling, and perform technical analysis to inform portfolio decisions. A successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of the electric utility industry and energy markets, coupled with exceptional analytical thinking skills and business acumen. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
**Trading Analytics** **& Bidding Strategy** - Independently works with traders and other analysts on developing trading strategy support to optimize PGE's energy portfolio and have a positive financial impact for PGE in the wholesale energy market. Analyzes financial profit and loss data from trading activities and assesses the impact on power costs. Identifies strategies for cost-effectively serving PGE's customer load. May use third-party tools to enable trading. Collects fundamental information for generation resources and load demand for electricity, natural gas , carbon and other commodities related to the bulk electricity market that impact the operation of commodity markets; conducts market sector or statistical analysis and interprets key market data elements into useful trading information. Develops and implements optimized bidding strategies for organized energy markets. Performs analysis on data sets that may require scripts, codes, languages, etc. Performs modeling and communicates with traders as well as stakeholders within PGE and outside of PGE. Uses advanced fundamental market analysis to inform portfolio strategy. Conducts regulatory research as necessary to support fundamental analysis and overall portfolio strategy. Technical analysis: Maintains and enhances the pricing database, including the addition of new pricing data and the creation of technical charts and analysis. Uses advanced technical analysis to inform portfolio strategy. Portfolio analysis: In the context of fundamental and technical analysis, originates portfolio trade recommendations that help identify new opportunities for trading.
**Communications and Presentations** - Prepares and distributes market update communications and presentations to internal stakeholders, which includes traders, management and executives; leads operating strategy with management, traders and executives as needed.
**External Relations** - Represents PGE in energy-related forums and meetings with other utilities and regulatory agencies to share/exchange information; works collaboratively with cross-functional teams in preparing, filing and presenting regulatory filings.
**Regulatory Compliance** - Leads, coordinates and supports PGE's interactions with external enforcement agencies; contributes to PGE's processes to demonstrate compliance and responses to audits; serves as company witness and subject matter expert in legal and rate-making testimony.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS
**Education**
+ Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, engineering, business and/or related field of study preferred.
**Experience**
+ Typically eight or more years in the energy industry or a related field. Experience in market trading and asset optimization.

+ Office environment – Hybrid – 3 Days in Office
Compensation Range:
$118,425.00 - $197,375.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
