Works closely with Finance/Accounting, Tax, and Credit team. Works daily with Operations/Schedulers, Middle Office, and Traders, to ensure accounting reconciliation is accurate and complete.Proactive and critical thinker who can identify opportunities for continuous process improvement. MISSION
As a Senior Trading Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and strategic accounting oversight. You will contribute to trading performance by analyzing profitability, reconciling transactions, and supporting compliance efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Profitability & Analysis: Gain a deep understanding of trading systems and Middle Office calculations to articulate fluctuations in deal profitability across periods.Financial Accuracy & Data Integrity: Review trading system outputs before ERP system uploads, collaborating closely with Operations to maintain accurate and current deal records.Derivative Hedging & Reconciliation: Interface, analyze, evaluate, and reconcile monthly derivative hedging activity, ensuring financial precision.Inter-Company Transactions & Consolidation: Reconcile quarterly and annual inter-company transactions between trading entities and other TotalEnergies entities for Consolidation Reporting.IFRS Compliance & Reporting: Assist in preparing IFRS reporting packages, including note disclosures.Regulatory & Audit Coordination: Respond to SOX-related inquiries from management and auditors on a quarterly and yearly basis. Build strong relationships with internal and external auditors to ensure timely and effective responses to audit requests.Tax Strategy & International Considerations: Work closely with the Tax Department and External Auditors to evaluate transfer pricing and tax implications across three different countries.Market Valuation & Risk Management: Evaluate and analyze Mark-to-Market calculations prepared by Middle Office using an in-house trading system.Trading Accounting Oversight: Support the review and analysis of tasks performed by Trading Accountants, including monthly TVM calculations, inventory valuation, and accounting for RINs.DIMENSIONS
Collaborates daily with the Finance/Accounting team and other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the accounting ledger.Maintains financial integrity by overseeing the completion of the accounting cycle on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.Operates within four key entities: Atlantic Trading & Marketing, Inc. (ATMI); Atlantic Trading & Marketing Financial, Inc. (ATMF); Total Atlantic Trading Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (TATM).Supports a diverse range of business activities, including Crude Trading, Products Trading, LPG, Biofuels, Shipping, and Trading Derivatives. Candidate Profile You are someone who possesses the following experience and credentials:Education/Experience:
5-8 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting in the Energy Commodity Marketing/Trading Industry Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance and/or AccountingCPA preferredSkills
