The CloudTune Capacity Management and Planning (CaMP) team is responsible for planning, procuring and managing cloud compute resources used by Amazon’s WW Stores, Digital and Other businesses (Alexa, Advertising, Digital Video, Retail Website Marketplaces and more). We are a fun-loving, high performing and diverse team that owns tools, products and services which interface directly with AWS to ensure successful scaling for world wide peak events including Prime Day, Q4 holidays, and Prime Video original launches.

Amazon businesses are investing in region-flexibility programs which enable us to leverage new AWS regions to be closer to our end customers and to improve the efficiency and scale of our business. The end-state architecture should enable individual services to break region coupling with their inter-dependencies while retaining the ability to keep critical business functions within a region. We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join our team and own the global cloud capacity strategy required to support these initiatives.

You will partner closely with region-flexibility program owners, service teams and AWS infrastructure teams to quantify opportunities and establish requirements for new processes to procure compute, networking and storage resources at cloud scale. You will optimize capacity decisions (minimizing risks to availability, minimizing cost to Amazon and reducing customer overhead) which drive multi-million dollar CapEx spending. Processes you develop will include feedback loops to your customers and become established best practices which scale to tens of thousands of teams.

You will also lead capacity descale programs after world wide peak events including Prime Day, Q4 holidays, and Prime Video original launches which span Amazon’s vast array of businesses (Alexa, Advertising, Digital Video, Retail Websites and more) and balance demand and supply of cloud resources. This is a highly visible role in which you will build and maintain relationships with business units across Amazon and influence their cloud compute scaling plans.

Your customers are the internal Amazon service teams across SDO and your stakeholders include regional-flexibility program teams, reliability engineering teams, finance teams, AWS and Amazon leadership to the VP level.

You will consider communication and data analysis your strengths. You will use data driven analysis and high judgement to make multi-million dollar decisions, with your scope and vision driving the implementation of feature requests to stakeholder teams for scalable, automated process optimizations. You will be comfortable with ambiguity, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and articulate trade-offs and balance business needs versus business and technical constraints.
