Job Description:

GDIT is seeking multiple Sr. Test Engineer to join our team supporting the FDA. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is the federal agency responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.

In this role as a Sr. Test Engineer you will be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle. You will participate in design sessions, both from custom code as well as architecture standpoint. You will attend customer and team meetings to support various program tasks including design review, stage gates, technical roadmap, production troubleshooting. As needed, you will create various document artifacts including design/ technical approach document, target state diagrams, installation instructions, and Visio diagrams.

The position is hybrid, requiring in-person work at the GDIT office in Gaithersburg, MD 3 days a week. The remaining 2 days are remote.

HOW A SENIOR IT TEST ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scriptsExecute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test resultsWork in an agile environment with rapidly changing requirementsHold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team membersSupport all aspects of user acceptance testing by the primary customer and/or usersAdapt test automation to suit project needsIsolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixesCreate clear and detail-oriented test plansBe a liaison with development and engineering support teams to assist with troubleshootingWork in an Oracle or SQL Server environmentMaintain the integrity of Automated tests in multiple environments.Review and approve QA Automation specifications and acceptance criteria.Collaborate with team members (Development, Testing Engineers, Scrum Master), Product Owner and Business partners to ensure that proper software testing methodologies are used, product requirements/issues are documented and diagnosed, and testing is completed according to established deadlines and processes.Coordinate with manual testers to convert test casesProvide technical guidance to mid-level developers as and when required.Work closely with release manager to ensure completion of key tasks including deployment, code baseline and merge, version control, etc.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Bachelors degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree)5+ years of experience in the development and execution of test plans and test scripts for Web-based applications3+ years' experience with Atlassian software such as JIRA and ConfluenceExperience developing, documenting, and maintaining functional test cases and other test artifacts like test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scriptsExperience executing and evaluating manual or automated test cases and report test results.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

3+ years of solid experience in QA automation. Experience with UI test automation frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNGGood knowledge of SQL codingExperience with Acceptance Test Driven Development (Gherkin), Behavior Driven DevelopmentProficiency using Selenium for automated testingProgramming and scripting with Java & HTML/CSS//XML/ JavaScriptTesting Framework: TestNG, BDD, Junit, ProtractorDevelopment Environment: Eclipse / Maven/ANTAgile / Scrum (workflow Rally or JIRA)Strong verbal and written communication skills

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:

Must be able to obtain a level 5 Public Trust, which requires residency in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
