**What You’ll Be Doing**
As a Senior Technology Architect, you will be responsible for the creation and evolution of CIBC BANK USA technology strategy, architecture, and governance management. You actively contribute to CIBC’s enterprise technology standards and best practices and create processes and procedures that align with CIBC’s enterprise governance standards. You pro-actively engage in initiatives and projects to ensure all requirements are met; align technology teams with the strategic direction for CIBC Enterprise Architecture and Domain organizations; and ensure the organization stays informed on emerging technology trends. You build relationships across the bank to align business needs with best-in-class technology solutions. The Senior Technology Architect position also emphasizes on strategic planning, technical leadership, and creating architectures of IT systems for both greenfield and existing applications. This role involves designing and overseeing the implementation of complex IT architectures, aligning technology with business goals, and providing guidance to development teams and vendors. This technology architect role also manages exceptions to architectural standards.

**How you’ll succeed**
+ **Strategic Planning & Architecture:** Develop and implement technology architectures, strategies, and roadmaps that align with business objectives. Ensure architecture and solutions created consider factors such as performance, scalability, impact to upstream and downstream systems, record retention and security
+ **Technical Leadership** : Provide technical guidance and expertise to project teams, developers, and vendors.
+ **System Design & Implementation:** Design, implement, and maintain IT systems, including infrastructure, applications, and data solutions. Engage on technology projects (requirements, design, and testing) to understand their needs and assess alignment to Enterprise standards. Recommend modifications to or exceptions from the standards as appropriate
+ **Standards & Compliance:** Establish and enforce architectural standards, frameworks, metrics, policies, and procedures.
+ **Communication & Collaboration:** Serve as liaison and partner to business teams, IT teams, and solution and enterprise architects. Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
+ **Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement:** Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, ensuring the ongoing stability and performance of IT systems. Stay informed about new technologies and emerging trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
+ **Cost-Effectiveness:** Plan, direct, and implement cost-effective technology solutions.
**Who You Are**
+ **You demonstrate experience in** Technology Architecture with a strong background in Application Development. You are an expert with interface Design/Architecture, Integration Technologies Development, and Enterprise Application Integration. You have the ability to create architectural artifacts at the macro and micro level. Should feel comfortable creating high- and low-level design artifacts (e.g., logical, physical and conceptual). You must have a strong technical foundation: Expertise in various IT technologies, including software, security and cloud platforms.
+ It is an asset if you possess knowledge of Wealth Management, Retail and Commercial Banking, Health, and/or HR business domains highly desirable.
+ **You are a certified professional.** Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure or AWS) preferred.
+ **You have a degree/diploma** in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with extensive experience in IT architecture and development.

_At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $140,000 - $165,000 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
