**GENERAL SUMMARY**
Reports to Manager, Radiology. Supervises the daily operations of Diagnostic Radiology. Functions as System Coordinator of the Radiology Information System and Image Transmission System. The individual is a highly organized, self motivated individual with strong technical, communication and leadership abilities. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on assigned unit.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
+ Demonstrated knowledge of safe operations of X-ray equipment and hospital procedures including infection control.
+ Must have a high degree of professionalism and dedication to principals of quality patient care and technical and professional education. Must maintain a professional level that promotes the well-being of the patient and teamwork among the health care providers.
+ Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to promote positive relationships with patients, visitors, radiologists, medical staff, and staff.
+ Employs proper body mechanics and techniques for transporting and positioning patients and equipment
**Education:**
Graduate of an approved JRC program (required)
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Must maintain CEUs as specified by the ARRT
**Licensure:**
Current Ohio license required. ARTT registration; BLS certification.
**Experience:**
.Five years experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Radiology supervisory experience required.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Compiles with established hospital policies, procedures, practices to assure that standards of quality, efficiency and safety are met. Deals fairly, reasonable, considerately and honestly with all other associated with the hospital including employees, patients, visitors, and respects other personal dignity and rights.
+ Coordinates with Manager, Radiology to achieve an integrated departmental operation.
+ Supervises daily patient care, creates schedules, coordinates all patient scheduling to provide adequate patient care coverage. Provides appropriate training of technologists, organizes departmental orientation, facilitates, and participates in in-services education to staff, physicians, patients, etc.
+ Assists Manager, Radiology in HR Functions: interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, disciplines and when necessary, recommends discharge of Radiology personnel with Manager, Radiology.
+ Researches patients, physician and associate to discover solutions to these situations. Develops QI initiatives as needed.
+ Participates in departmental QA projects.
+ Functions as System Administrator for the Radiology Information Management System and its related interfaces.
+ Performs/supervises detail design and development activities for radiology management system applications and hospital information systems as they relate to the operations of the radiology department. Plans team member work assignments and schedules. Performs project activities/tasks and guides a project through to a production system.
+ Performs necessary analysis, investigation, and evaluation to support project activities and tasks as by project work plans and schedules.
+ Develops and conducts system training programs for staff and radiologists, develops system documentation including appropriate policies and procedures; evaluates and implements operational changes resulting from system implementation; oversees forms and work flow design processes.
+ Develops, maintains, and coordinates changes assuring the quality of the productions environment by auditing, monitoring and tracking the movement of new or upgrade modules from test to production.
+ Completes time/attendance weekly; work schedules-monthly (Diagnostic Radiology, Mammography, CT, Special Procedures); work assignments-weekly, work assignments-daily.
+ Maintains adequate departmental supplies, Identifies malfunctioning equipment; participates in discussions concerning purchase of new equipment.
+ Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned.
+ Provides service to all age groups.
+ Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on assigned unit.
+ Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span by completing continuing education program.
+ Interprets information need to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific need: Neonate ,Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
+ Embraces standards of behavior in order to provide and promote excellent customer service for both internal and external customers. Holds self and others accountable for behaviors that promote service excellence.
+ Adheres to all standards and policies regarding safety/patient safety initiatives.
