Senior Technician, Formulations & Materials Science

Location: Princeton, NJ

You will be working in a lab to synthesize and test small-molecule compounds for sustained controlled-release and push towards commercialization.

Your Key Responsibilities:

 

Conduct synthetic organic chemical reactions for the discovery of new fragrance and flavor moleculesIsolate, purify, and characterize reaction products by NMR, GC-MS, and IREvaluate commercial potential of new molecules by measuring performance in consumer productsCompile and report data to supervisor, present at group meetings, and contribute to written reportsOperate and perform basic maintenance of analytical instrumentation (GC, GC-MS)Perform housekeeping duties and order supplies to maintain a neat, organized, and well stocked laboratory

You Bring:

 

B.S degree in chemistry or related field2 years laboratory experience in R&DExperience performing synthetic organic chemistry experiments and techniques such as chromatography, extractions, and distillationsExperience operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation such as gas chromatographs and mass spectrometersExcellent written and oral communication skillsA commitment to teamwork, fostering collaboration and respecting diverse perspectivesA spirit of curiosity, embracing new challenges and pioneering innovative solutions that drive positive change

 

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided. Salary $56,000-$75,000.
