WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Senior Technical System/Support Analyst with QTS Business Client Services Run The Bank (RTB) group is responsible for providing first and second line application support within RBC Capital Markets. The incumbent will help with performing technical analysis, troubleshooting of incidents and service disruptions, infrastructure compliance and IT Risk related action items, documentation, etc. across the supported applications. The role is critical for ensuring the applications supported by the RTB team are compliant as per enterprise policies.
Due to a variety of systems, we support as well as new development projects, this position offers a great learning potential in both technology and Capital Markets areas. We also work very closely with our business partners to bring efficiencies in QTS Business Client Service line of businesses.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Ensures proper operation of RBCCM QTS systems and applications leading to timely delivery and availability for our business partners and ensure maximum uptime by providing continual 24x7support. Candidate is responsible for supporting/managing large scale Structured applications.Supporting applications & infrastructure, working with business users, change management, incident & problem management, audit and compliance reviews, EOD batch monitoring, tasks automation, BCP testing, infrastructure planning and implementation.Serves as a point of escalation for incidents, driving and documenting the Post Incident Review process, or where the incident would otherwise indicate systemic, structural or recurring problem characteristicsPromotes the relationship of trust and partnership with business clients and other RBCCM IT teams. Ensures management is kept always informed of ‘top talker’ issues for all applications in their remit. Drives process improvement projects and implements on advice from management. Escalates application support issues requiring manager’s attention in a timely manner.Liaise with internal development teams and external vendors to resolve support issues, demonstrate strong leadership of team, quick coordination of resources to resolve IT production incidents, ensure logging of support incidents, hold Problem Review Meetings (PRMs) and track action items to closure. Participates and prepares in rationalization of multiple internal application-centric Operations Level Agreement (OLA) and Service level Agreement (SLA) flavors into a minimal set of archetype agreements, based on material support levelProvide regular updates and status to all stakeholders on open issues, ensures systems delivered to production environments meet enterprise quality requirements. Facilitate rollout of software components in production.Proactively identifying operational risks/control deficiencies in the business, review and comply with firm policies applicable to business activities.Available 24 x 7 for any high visibility / escalations. Open plan office environment / Working from Home. Minimal travel requiredProactively prepare for planned maintenance over weekends, DR exercise and all major rollouts, provide subject matter experience and guidance to team members, Provide consistent feedback to Senior Management to improve enterprise process improvementWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Knowledge in Capital Market all asset classes preferred and Back Office Operations Line of Businesses.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Able to critically evaluate and manage information gathered from multiple sources.Proven competence in delivering and supporting large and highly complex projects. Proven experience with Databases.Strong experience on Linux, Windows, SQL Server and Application monitoring tools (ITRS Geneos and Job Scheduler (CTRL-M), Stone branch etc.,). Also familiar with programming languages/scripting such as JBOSS, Java, DB script, Python, Shell, VBScript along with Middleware technologies and platforms (Ex., MQ and Solace)Nice-to-have:
