In the role of Technical Service Manager Food Confectionery, you’ll be at the heart of this innovation!
As Technical Service Manager for the confectionery market (mostly in Germany) you work very closely with our Sales, Innovation colleagues, and the customer’s R&D Innovation and Quality departments. In this position you will report directly to the Manager Technical Service. Through daily contact with the technical departments of our customers and as a partner of sales and account managers, you understand and spot the interests and needs of our customers and translate / negotiate this into understandable and realistic specifications and solutions. You create innovations to meet these requirements with our Research and Development specialists, as well as Product Management, Quality and Production. This role is truly cross functional.
About 50% of your time, you will be in contact with a broad range of customers producing Chocolate food solutions in Germany. You will be traveling regularly to visit customers for project and portfolio updates or to assist at line trials. As the technical part of our sales team, you are typically the person in contact with our own Innovation and Quality teams, and with our customers’ R&D and Quality departments to make sure we create the right products and samples for our customers.
The other part of your time you are driving your projects with the internal organization, developing and proving solutions with the lab teams and preparing co-creation sessions with marketing and application leads. As a technical expert on our product, you also engage with our customers by organizing customer workshops and training, representing exhibitions and fairs, support building product USPs in application, and you build and maintain presence and visibility in the local technical community and network, e.g. by participating in expert groups, advisory boards to technical institutions.
What do we expect from you?
As the description might have given away, for this role you will need to be a specialist in food product development and in oils & fats for the food industry. We expect you to have finished an education in Food Science or equivalent and have at least 5 year’s experience in Technical Sales. Your mentality and experience are commercial, result-oriented and most of all you are service-minded, pro-active and responsive. You have knowledge of chocolate, the relevant laws and regulations, and the market. In a dynamic environment, you can quickly adapt to seizing opportunities and increase customer satisfaction. To achieve this, you’ll be a great teammate and have developed sound project management skills. Proficiency in German and English is required, other European languages are helpful.
