Senior Technical Lead - Hardware System Design Engineer 

Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Sr Technical Lead Engineer to support Hardware engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for design and development of defense and marine products. This role include understanding of Hardware systems design / redesign requirements and generate project proposals including technology feasibility study, architectural design, System requirements management, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. Responsibility also include proposal of cost reduction, reliability improvement, Product qualification planning of products to meet the customer requirements as well as governing regulatory standards (UL, CE, MIL-STD, Cenelac etc.). You also perform trade analysis of design approaches, engineering simulations, modeling and mock-ups as part of feasibility. Responsibility also includes the review of outputs of the team to ensure the quality deliverables.

Qualifications: B.Tech in Engineering or equivalent with 12 to 16 years of relevant experience. Higher qualifications of Post-graduation and/or PhD is desirable. Working experience in Defense systems is desirable

Technical Skills and Competencies:

Must have strong experience in Product design and development from requirements to Conceptual design to architectural design to detailed design and analysis.

Experience in design and development of products for Defense or marine applications is highly desirable.

Must have an experience on complete product life cycle from requirements to developing a qualified product.

Must have experience in performing feasibility analysis from requirements, different phases of product design, associated reviews and required deliverables in each phase.

Must have strong knowledge of using simulation tools, Hand calculations, Architectural design, PUGH matrix ) for functional simulations and trade-off analysis

Must have working experience of product performance evaluation (Hardware Verification) and product qualification to comply to MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-810G standards

Should have experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrialization, Procurement, Suppliers,…)

Should have an understanding and use of DFMEA, DFM tools

Must have strong problem solving skills and troubleshooting skills on Hardware systems in identifying the root-cause and fixing with an efficient solution and driving the process improvement with lessons learnt.

Must have hands on experience on design for Marine environment, protection and solving of any issues during the product qualification

Strong experience in Hardware formal qualification, generating IVVQ documentation requirements

Must have experience in driving new technologies initiative, product improvement initiative, value-engineering initiatives.

Experience in usage and integration of PLCs,  Motors, motor drive electronics, control & command systems is desirable
