Senior Technical Lead Engineer
Meet the Team We are Cisco's DCN (Data Center Networking) Engineering group is responsible for developing and maintaining network controller software that is part of Cisco's suite of software-defined networking (SDN) solutions. The group focuses on creating advanced, intelligent controllers that enable more agile, secure, and scalable management of network infrastructure. Your Impact As a Senior Software Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest problem solvers and thinkers in the Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) Team that work on next generation of datacenter and cloud switches. Pivotal Role in Software Development: Lead the software development and advancement efforts for Cisco's cutting-edge network controller software, utilized by thousands of Cisco customers worldwide. Team Leadership: Manage a team of highly skilled engineers focused on developing the next-generation, industry-leading network controller solutions. Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with customers, Technical Marketing Engineers (TME), and product marketing teams to understand requirements, develop innovative solutions, and ensure the maintenance of products currently in production. Architecture and Design Contribution: Actively participate in architecture and design discussions, advocating for scalable and maintainable codebases. Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and reusable code that adheres to Cisco's standards and best practices. Minimum Qualifications : * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. * Extensive experience of 18 years or more in data networking software development, distributed systems, or network controller development. * Proven track record in a managerial or leadership role within a similar technical domain for more than 8 years. * Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, including project planning and execution. * Experience in strategic planning and delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation to diverse audiences. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems efficiently. * Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and teams, ideally within the context of software-defined networking or data networking. Preferred Qualifications: * Proven ability to lead technical innovation and drive improvements in network controller technology. * Experience in designing and implementing scalable network architectures that enhance performance and security. * Deep understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VPN. * Experience with Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) and Cisco ACI environments. #WeAreCisco (This is the Standard and cannot be changed) #WeAreCisco where every individual brings their unique skills and perspectives together to pursue our purpose of powering an inclusive future for all.
