For our Technical Service in Ship Electrification Solutions within the business unit Project Services we are now looking for an energetic, ambitious and enthusiastic Senior Technical Expert – Ship Electrification Solutions (m/f/d) to join our team in Wärtsilä Deutschland GmbH.
What will you be doing
In Technical Service SES, we are providing technical support on Energy management systems, switchboards, generators, electrical motors, transformers, frequency converters and battery hybrid systems.
As Senior Technical Expert your work will focus on leading smaller teams providing technical advice, failure analysis, condition analysis and support to the other services department activities (Sales Support; Projects; Field service) and marine solutions. You will plan and execute field testing, site surveys and related analysis on request-basis. You will contribute with input to product improvement actions based on field feedback screening and analysis results. Based on your experience, you will potentially provide inputs to maintenance recommendations and intervals. Your responsibilities also include creating and updating documentation, providing support and knowledge for reconditioning and retrofit activities, as well as update product databases and documentation if a modification is made to an installation.
As Senior Technical Expert, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
Provide technical advice, failure analysis, condition analysis and support to the other services department activities (Sales Support; Projects; Field service) and marine solutions. To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
A BSc or MSc within the field of electrical and automation. Minimum 5 years relevant working experience and technical skills in power distribution systems, frequency converters or automation systems and Energy Management systems Knowledge of Shaft Generator Systems, Frequency Drives, Switchboard systems and PLC Control Systems. Analytical problem-solving skills and competences in using engineering and software tools and are skilled when it comes to technical writing. Strong customer focus because as a company we focus on customer needs and satisfaction and set high standards for quality. Good communication skills as you will communicate internally and externally and should also be capable of working in different environments and teams. Leading smaller groups of team members is also expected. Good command in English, both oral and written.
