The Work You'll Do:

The primary focus of this role is to implement Sovos software products, providing technical support and guidance within Sovos Professional Services Team to our customers. The Senior Technical Consultant will be instrumental in understanding the customer’s landscape structure and configuring Sovos software applications needed to facilitate seamless integration between customer’s systems (ERP, CRM, POS) and Sovos platforms as well as provide guidance to customers to ensure their systems are set up correctly to support the integration. This role also contributes to the transition of a customer implementation from the project phase to the production support by ensuring that all technical components needed for the solutions are stable and configured according to the customer’s needs while conforming to Sovos’ best practices.

More specifically:

Provide technical support and guidance to Sovos customers as Professional Services Team members during project implementations. Utilize product/technical experience to customize and configure Sovos applications. Apply extensive product/technical experience to troubleshoot issues, identify and log RCA results and share among team members for future reference. Maintain constant communication with Product, Regulatory, SAP and other team members as part of the project implementation team. Lead technical related meetings with customers or Product Teams as needed. Create and maintain communication interfaces between customer’s environment and Sovos platforms. Utilize technical experience to create output templates using Sovos best practices. Troubleshoot and correct connectivity issues between source systems (ERP, CRM, POS) and Sovos on premise and cloud-based platforms. Ability to work on multiple, complex implementation projects concurrently. Enhance knowledge and skills relating to new/existing/future products and rollouts as well as emerging technology to increase proficiency in a technical capacity. Responsible for ensuring technical support for client implementations to meet quality and scope expectations. Maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment to action. Participate in project teams and product committee cadences providing valuable feedback and guidance as required. Demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and commitment to personal development and learning.

 

What We Need From You:

Bachelor’s degree in technology field such as information systems, computer science, software engineering or related field or 5+ years of relevant experience in similar roles. Well organized and comfortable working with Fortune 1000 companies. Expertise in business process analysis. Understanding of basic tax rules and the ability to translate them to technical scenarios to facilitate correct mapping of customer’s business use cases to Sovos technology. Technical experience with on premise, hosted and cloud-based systems. In-depth understanding of APIs, XML, UBL and XSLT. Understanding of SAP systems and SAP integration techniques is an advantage. Proven capabilities in the following skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Troubleshooting and in-depth analysis. Experience in system integration demonstrating a good understanding of integration architecture with heterogeneous systems. Experience with EDI technologies and API connectivity expertise with REST and SOAP web-services experience. Ability to use standard tools like POSTMAN or soap UI for API testing. Team player and supportive to the team. Analytical thinking. Excellent time management and reporting Ability to occasionally travel to customer sites, if needed (most work is done remotely) Essential Job Functions: Interact effectively with teammates, colleagues, and clients. Comprehend and communicate complex concepts. Concentrate, analyze and resolve complex problems. Leverage technology (laptop, cloud computing, smartphones) to fulfill work requirements. Quickly adapt to new tax laws and self-train to implement new products.
