Responsible for continuously driving product quality improvement and providing technical expertise on Electrical and Electronics\:
• To serve as a focal solution provider for Field Failure resolution through rapid Corrective Action (CA) activities serving as a 24x7 escalation point for field problems on startups as well as for manufacturing engineering for technical issues. New Product Development (NPD) technical reviewer ensuring NPD issues are caught early and fixed prior to release to production via rapid CA and by injecting value engineering concepts to solve projected manufacturing problems.
• To serve as a single point escalation path for technical issue resolution from manufacturing.
• To serve as a technical inventory reviewer driving obsolescence down by driving NPD re-use activities across the divisions.
· Serves as product expert w/ regards to electrical and electronics
· Leads in resolving Corrective Actions quickly pertaining to test/electrical/electronic components through 7 step problem solving methodology.
· Continuously drives in analyzing and formulating solutions to reduce/improve Defect Per Unit (DPU)/yields
· Field failure analysis and monitoring including creation of DCA reports where needed
· Interfaces with corporate design groups to improve product quality by learning from the lessons of the past CA, technical evaluations including Design for Manufacturing / Assembly (DFMA)
· Actively participates in product transitions and discussions by coordinating to local staff on going activities on new product development, and ensuring that all electrical/electronic parts-related issues affecting product transitions are resolved prior to release to manufacturing
· Participates on new product development teams to create test philosophies, specifications, and procedures.
· Proofs the test flow by making sure the specs are rightfully designed for manufacturing.
· Work with continuous improvement teams to update software/hardware for improved product quality
· Re-engineering and value engineering introductions to solve product quality issues
· Customer interface on product quality issues and provides on the spot system evaluations and customer report to resolved customer problems as escalated by the field service engineers
Execute and improve surveillance test to capture early life failures encountered in the customer
