Senior Team Lead 1st Shift - Somerset, NJ
**Sr. Team Lead 1st Shift, Production, PE** **Somerset, NJ, US** **On-Site** This position will lead and coordinate and manage the 1st shift (6:00am – 2:30pm) Production Team, providing leadership and expertise, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of operations, evaluating the performance of personnel, ensuring adherence to cGMP procedures and practices and fostering good working relations with internal teams, supporting functions to enhance overall business processes. **Your key responsibilities** + Spearhead a positive safety culture, firmly believing in injury prevention and conduct safety leading indicator activities to achieve established targets, actively engaging team members. + Support the management of plant and process areas, including training new staff and implementing process improvement initiatives. + Conduct daily audits of Quality Risk Assessments, proactively addressing and preventing non-conformances and utilize effective troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis to monitor, assess, and resolve production issues. + Optimize on-time delivery by adhering to schedules and adjusting goals as necessary to meet daily targets. Support scheduling and planning of client batches, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met. + Utilize Six Sigma tools for continuous process improvements across manufacturing operations. Act as a liaison with other functional teams to support cross-functional project work. Identify areas for improvement in process, equipment, and training, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). + Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of packing, compounding, safety, quality, punctuality, communication, leadership and accountability. **We bring** + Empowerment to make meaningful contributions while upholding ethical standards. + Recognition and celebration of your efforts and accomplishments. + Opportunities for growth and advancement for those who embrace innovation and take initiative. + Dedication to creating better futures for customers, communities, people, and the planet. + Responsibility and accountability in living company values and driving sustainable solutions. + Supportive environment where individuals are empowered to progress and contribute to meaningful change. **You bring** + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering, operations management, or a similar field. + 3-5 years supervisory experience, preferably in a chemical or food/beverage manufacturing environment. + Experience with LEAN Manufacturing and Sanitation, preferably in a perfumery and/or + Experience with business systems such as SAP, Kronos, Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Power point and Outlook) + Ability to be on your feet 60% - 90% of the day. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). + Willingness and ability to work in a facility with minimal temperature control, exposed to local temperature variations (hot & cold). + Must have the ability to operate a forklift. The hourly rate provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly rate: $35.00 per hour.
