TCG is responsible for ensuring that plans comply with federal laws and regulations, and our clients hire us to make sure that all of the money moving into and out of these accounts does so in accordance with those federal regulations.

Job purpose:

The purpose of the senior tax associate is to work directly with the tax team and wealth management teams to deliver personal, S-Corporation, partnership, private foundation and gift tax returns.  The successful senior tax associate will be a tax enthusiast, thoughtful listener, have a strong team mentality, and be driven to grow professionally and personally.

Duties and responsibilities:

Build and maintain client relationships aimed at client retention; support clients as it relates to planning, projects and compliance requirementsPrepare tax returns, quarterly and annual income tax projections, estimated tax vouchers, extension forms and all related work papers and financial statementsMaintain client paper files and electronic data files in a timely manner; compile quarterly asset values for billing, journals, transfers, invoicing, annuity fees, commission fees and collection consulting feesReview activities within the job scope for sufficient controls to prevent errors, fraud and misstatements of financial resultsAttend and participate in learning opportunities through client meetings, associate meetings and internal resources made available through compliance, practice management, etc.Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities, research supervised technical matters for complex tax needs and updates to regulationsPresent complete, timely and accurate client deliverablesCompliance to the Firm’s quality control standardsAdditional projects, furthering the service of clients, as needed

Work experience:

3+ years of related experience skills and knowledge

Education/Licensing:

Bachelor’s degree, Accounting or Finance
 

Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and ExcelFamiliarity with tax software programsPositive attitude toward client relations to provide exceptional, proactive client serviceDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain the necessary attention to detailHighly organized with strong analytical skills, creative problem solving and strong research capabilitiesAbility to work in a team while maintaining a high level of responsibility and accountability to individual projects and tasksAble to manage conflicting priorities, deadline-based tasks and simultaneous projectsClear communicator with strong interpersonal writing & presentation skills

Working Conditions:

Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Compensation:

$90,000-$110,000 per year
