As the Senior Tax Analyst, reporting to the Tax Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for preparing annual federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns and related provisions. You will be an integral member of a dynamic global tax team of over 40 professionals, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives. This role will include occasional travel to international locations, and will contribute to a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with opportunities to broaden your experience in Canadian and international tax compliance.

A Day in the Life   

Assist in the preparation of annual U.S. federal/state corporate and partnership income tax returns and provisionPreparing responses to inquiries for federal and provincial/state income tax auditsProvide tax technical support to properly calculate the impact of 163(j) and BEATPrepare U.S. international tax related forms such as 1042, 5471, 5472, 8858 and relevant statements and disclosuresCommunicate with external auditors on the consolidated year-end and quarterly tax provision calculation and related disclosuresAssist in identifying areas for process improvements and collaborate on various automation of tax processes and ongoing efforts to streamline operationsPerform research and analysis of tax issues and document treatment of significant tax accounting mattersInvolvement in various other ad hoc matters not limited to U.S. compliance.

Requirements 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s in Taxation preferredCPA designation or actively pursuing is considered an asset2–3 years of U.S. tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or large multinational corporation (Big Four experience is a plus)Familiarity with U.S. income tax software (e.g., OneSource)Advanced Excel skillsStrong knowledge of SQL, including writing and optimizing queriesCollaborative team player with a willingness to learn and provide broad tax supportExperience with tax technology and automation tools (e.g., Alteryx) is a strong asset

The hiring base salary range for this position is $76,300 - $104,900 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
