The Senior Tax Accountant will play a key role in supporting our state and local income, franchise, and indirect tax reporting and compliance requirements. Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, this position will provide senior-level expertise in ensuring accurate and timely filings, while contributing to process improvements as our organization continues to evolve.
Our ideal candidate has at least two full seasons of public accounting firm and/or corporate tax experience in taxation, with a proven ability to navigate complex and changing tax environments. As we continue refining compliance and review processes following our recent IPO—and expanding rapidly into new tax jurisdictions—this role will require adaptability, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Filings: Prepare and e-file sales, use, gross receipts, business personal property, and business license returns; ensure all compliance deadlines, payments, and refunds are met.Tax Administration: Maintain and update the tax calendar; register new accounts; manage resale and exemption certificate systems; and coordinate directly with state and local jurisdictions.Notices, Audits & Research: Organize and respond to tax notices, support audits by gathering and maintaining documentation, and conduct research for use tax analysis and other tax inquiries.Reporting & Schedules: Develop and maintain high-quality schedules to support tax provision calculations and other reporting needs.Process Improvement: Assist in developing, refining, and maintaining internal policies and procedures to streamline and enhance tax functions.Skills and Qualifications
