Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Corporate Tax Department within the Enterprise Operations business at Lockheed Martin. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting our income tax accounting, forecasting, and compliance efforts, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of tax-related activities. Some key responsibilities for the role include:
- Preparing and reviewing assigned income tax accounting packages pursuant to ASC740.
- Responsible for the tax planning and compliance function, which includes preparing assigned federal C Corp. income tax returns, as well as partnership returns.
- Assisting with the review of new and existing tax laws, court case, regulations, and rulings to provide strategic insight on potential company impacts and inform business decisions.
- Building and maintaining crucial relationships between Tax and Business Units, ensuring Tax has a well-informed view of the business operations.
- Collaborating closely with the Tax Accounting, Forecast and External Reporting team for the timely and accurate preparation of assigned quarterly and annual tax provision packets and related disclosures.
- Seeking opportunities for efficiency and improvements in processes, driving meaningful change.

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in preparing Federal C Corporation income tax returns, with an understanding of tax laws and policies.
- Ability to perform moderately complex tax research and correctly interpret tax law.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word (features include: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas, Multiple Worksheets, Tables, Templates, etc.).
Desired Skills:
- CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years' experience working in a public accounting firm or a large corporate tax department.
- Familiarity with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and SOX compliance.
- Proficiency with Thomson Reuters, OneSource, Oracle and Corptax.
- Familiarity with Alteryx, AI, dashboards, and/or digital transformations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,800 - $130,180. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
