Microsoft is seeking a Senior Talent Sourcer, Security with deep expertise in Security Engineering professions and a proven track record of building effective sourcing strategies for roles such as penetration testers, Security Researchers, Security Assurance specialists, and related positions. This individual will source for both individual contributor and leadership positions, partnering directly with MS Security, Microsoft AI and Security Engineering leaders across Microsoft to define profiles, evaluate talent, and build pipelines that support Microsoft’s Security mission.
You’ll be working with hiring managers to attract, engage and hire the very brightest minds in the industry to help us build infrastructure for the largest security company in the world. Your stakeholder management skills, superior candidate engagement skills and passion for recruiting will ensure your success in our rapidly evolving business.
This is a role for a sourcer who treats Security as both craft and strategy, and can spot technical signal, tell stories to talent, and help shape teams that build the next generation of secure, AI-powered solutions.
This is a hybrid role based in Mountain View, CA, with an expectation of being in-office at least 3 days per week.

**Responsibilities**
**Stakeholder Collaboration**
+ Partner closely with Security, Engineering, and AI leadership to understand talent needs across technical domains, threat intelligence, assurance, and research.
+ Shape and evolve candidate profiles through collaborative calibration, market feedback, and technical signal evaluation.
+ Present search strategies and candidate pipelines with clarity—translating technical requirements and security competencies into informed, shared language.
+ Advise hiring teams on inclusive, thoughtful engagement practices tailored for Security professionals.
**Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning**
+ Map the landscape of Security Engineering talent across major organizations, startups, research labs, and top-tier tech companies.
+ Track trends across emerging Security Engineering tools, conferences (e.g., DefCon, Black Hat), and communities to surface rising talent.
+ Build pipelines for high-potential Security Engineering professionals who may flex across assurance, research, or leadership roles depending on need.
+ Identify untapped or underrepresented Security Engineering talent communities and align sourcing strategies to increase access and inclusion.
**Outreach and Engagement**
+ Craft highly personalized messaging that reflects deep understanding of a candidate’s work, values, and technical journey.
+ Source through non-traditional channels: Google Scholar, GitHub, Security-specific sites, DefCon, Black Hat, LinkedIn Security groups, and technical forums.
+ Attend or engage with Security Engineering showcases, conferences, research presentations, and community events to uncover talent and build presence.
**Talent Sourcing Expertise**
+ Drive creative, multi-threaded sourcing strategies for both high-visibility Security Engineering searches and emerging leadership roles.
+ Lead focused sourcing missions tied to critical Security Engineering talent needs—tracking goals, quality of submissions, and funnel outcomes.
+ Demonstrate fluency in evaluating technical portfolios and research contributions across multiple Security disciplines.
+ Share best practices with peers, contribute to evolving sourcing strategy, and help elevate the hiring experience for Security talent.
**Data-Driven Decision Making**
+ Use data to measure candidate funnel health, technical signal strength, engagement response rates, and offer outcomes.
+ Leverage sourcing tools and CRM systems to track Security Engineering engagement at scale, while maintaining a high-touch candidate experience.
+ Present data-backed recommendations to guide investment in channels, communities, or profiles with the highest ROI.

**Qualifications**
**Required/Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree AND 6+ years of talent acquisition experience (e.g., recruiting, sourcing), HR experience, or industry experience related to role
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years of experience analyzing talent market trends to consult hiring managers on recruiting strategies.
+ 3+ years of sourcing experience focused on finding top-tier Security Engineering talent.
**Additional** **or Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree AND 12+ years of talent acquisition experience
+ OR Master’s Degree AND 8+ years of equivalent experience.
+ Proven success sourcing across multiple Security Engineering disciplines (e.g., penetration testing, research, assurance, leadership).
+ Familiarity with Security Engineering communities, conferences, and portfolio ecosystems (e.g., DefCon, Black Hat, Google Scholar, GitHub, LinkedIn Security groups).
+ Experience supporting both individual contributor and leadership roles in Security Engineering, ideally for major organizations or AI-driven teams.
Talent Acquisition IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
