The Advanced Networking Solutions engineering organization, located in St. Petersburg, FL, is seeking a Senior Manager, Systems Engineering to join our team as the onsite Section Leader for the Advanced Networking Solutions (ANS) product line areas.
The selected applicant will join a team of talented leaders and engineers responsible for all aspects of the systems engineering “V-model” of sophisticated naval and maritime systems and software releases. Section Leaders within the Systems Excellence Department support the ANS business by cultivating a world-class group of systems engineers and innovators who work together to: define requirements, develop architecture and related designs, facilitate integration, and lead verification of product line area software and systems. This position includes an individual contributor workload where you can expect to work on many if not all the phases of the development life cycle.
The primary product line and technology area in the ANS business is the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC); a real-time ‘sensor-netting’ system that brings together radar data into a single integrated air picture from geographically dispersed ships, aircraft, and ground-based units. This integrated picture improves a battlegroup’s effectiveness by enabling longer range, cooperative, or layered engagements. Today’s CEC benefits from advancements in commercial and specialized technologies, as well as from the experience and expertise of the Collins Aerospace team, continually innovating to advance capability and performance.

**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Perform management activities and provides leadership for approximately 12-18 Systems Engineers. These activities include professional and technical development of people, providing and identifying appropriate training for people, and performance management.
+ Partner with the Systems Department Leader in the execution of ANS Capabilities and Collins Aerospace Engineering goals.
+ Oversee the direct line management activities for the section including two-way communication, performance management, career development and recognition, and talent acquisition.
+ Collaborate and communicate with internal and external parties.
+ Enforce compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures and Systems processes.
+ Innovative thought and identification of solutions to systemic issues.
+ Lead change management and be of influence when and where needed.
+ Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
+ Work as a technical lead or individual contributor; Section Leader duties account for approximately 15% of the Section Leader’s work week.

**Qualifications/ Experience Needed:**
+ Successfully executed in a previous senior engineering leadership role; Demonstrated communication and presentation skills with the ability to seamlessly present the appropriate information to numerous stakeholders.
+ Experience working with complex system-of-systems from both a development and maintenance perspective and from an architectural perspective.
+ Understanding/familiarity with the following software technologies: Requirements database (e.g. DOORS, etc.), Linux, C/C++, Python or other programming languages.
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
+ Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance after start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience developing system architectures, designs and test methodologies in a team-based environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevSecOps and test automation.
+ Experience using DOORS for requirements management and linking requirements to test procedures.
+ Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including ability to produce technical documentation, and the desire to learn new technologies and tools.
+ Experience with the following additional software technology areas: Agile project management; automated test scripting and data analysis; Security+; MATLAB.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
