Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) to support the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Team in El Segundo, CA.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in RF and hardware, with a proven track record in designing communication and network systems. This role requires expertise in documenting architecture, hardware configurations, and creating various technical diagrams. The candidate should also have experience in lab and field testing, as well as full life-cycle project management from proposal through to sell-off.

Position Responsibilities

Design and develop communication and network systems.Document system architectures and hardware configurations.Create block diagrams, cable diagrams, and test setup drawings.Develop Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW) and performance requirement documents.Conduct lab and field testing to validate system performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Test Engineers, Software Engineers, and Firmware Engineers.Manage full life-cycle projects, from concept development to implementation and sell-off.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science14+ years of related work experienceStrong RF and hardware knowledgeExperience in designing communication systems and networks.Proficient in creating technical documentation and diagrams (e.g., system performance specifications, interface control documents, and supplier statement of work)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools; experience with RF performance analysis and predictions using MATLAB or other RF/Waveform tools is a plusKnowledge of current military radio, modems, and antennas for Line of Sight and SATCOM applications.Integration and test experience in lab environments, anechoic chambers, EMI testing, field testing, and flight testing.Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
