Nutanix (NTNX) is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic **Senior Systems Engineer (SE)** who will act as a trusted advisor to our customer’s beginning as a presales activity while aiding the customer’s transformational journey through the adoption of our solutions portfolio. Your primary responsibility is to partner with the sales team and provide technical knowledge around Nutanix solutions to our customers and prospects. You’ll provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and guide prospects through technical evaluations (POCs) which are critical to the deal's success. Additionally, you will work with various teams to resolve customer concerns, escalate product issues, and serve as an ambassador for our brand.
**About the Team**
Our Systems Engineering & Solution Sales organization is made up of 800+ customer-focused technical sales professionals who are responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with the customer’s business issues and objectives, as well as channel partner training and enablement. This team also acts in a consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert in their field by the Nutanix sales, customer success, business partners, and customers.
**Your Role**
+ Drive sales with technical expertise, account management skills, sales ability, and exceptional customer focus.
+ Articulate and demonstrate the features and benefits of Nutanix solutions and products, understanding the customer’s business drivers, how to map these to a Nutanix solution and influence customers’ purchases to drive business transformation
+ Install, manage, monitor, and/or perform solution evaluations and Proofs-of-Concept in support of sales opportunities, both directly with the customer and through channel partners.
+ independently: installation/configuration, test plans, performance/reliability validation, GPU scheduling/optimization, final reporting.
+ Design practical DevOps and DevSecOps workflows: CI/CD, image & supply-chain security, source/artifact scanning, signing, and policy-as-code governance.
+ Embed Security & Compliance by design: identity & access (SSO/RBAC), network segmentation, secrets management, audit/observability, CIS/NIST/ISO mappings.
+ Compare mainstream commercial and open-source options (platform, MLOps, observability, policy/scanning) and recommend based on requirements and constraints.
+ Produce high-quality technical assets (architectures, POC plans & reports, runbooks, best practices).
**What You Will Bring**
+ 6 to 9 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role with 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Presales Engineer
+ Deep expertise in container platforms & CNCF stack: Kubernetes (node/network/CNI/storage/scheduling), Helm/Operators, Service Mesh (Istio/Linkerd), Ingress/Egress, GitOps (Argo CD/Flux).
+ AI/LLM & MLOps practice: model serving/routing (batch/online), data/feature pipelines, vector search, experiment & artifact management (e.g., Kubeflow/MLflow/Ray/Argo Workflows/KFP).
+ GPU & performance: GPU Operator/DCGM, MIG/MPS, NCCL, RDMA/InfiniBand/RoCE, batch/large-job schedulers (e.g., Volcano/Kueue/Slurm integration).
+ DevOps/GitOps: CI/CD (GitLab CI/GitHub Actions/Jenkins), artifact/version management, IaC (Terraform/Ansible).
+ DevSecOps & supply-chain security: image build & scanning (e.g., Trivy/Grype), signing/verification (Sigstore/Cosign), SBOM, SAST/DAST/SCA, policy-as-code (OPA Gatekeeper/Kyverno).
+ Security & Compliance: RBAC/least privilege, SSO/OIDC, segmentation & mTLS, secrets management (Vault/External Secrets), audit & observability
+ (Prometheus/Grafana/Loki), hands-on with CIS Benchmarks and ISO 27001/NIST/SOC2 mappings and implementation.
+ Reliability & operations: HA/auto-scaling, workload/node isolation, backup/restore & DR (CSI, snapshots, policy-driven backups).
+ Excellent presentation, documentation, and customer communication; fluent in Mandarin and English.
+ Nice-to-have:
+ Certifications: CKA/CKS/CKAD
+ Cluster networking & eBPF (Cilium/Calico), QoS/priority management, cost & capacity planning.
+ Hands-on with enterprise platforms: OpenShift, Nutanix Kubernetes Platform, VMware Tanzu (any).
**Work Arrangement**
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
