Senior Systems Engineer

At Resmed, we are global leaders in connected devices and digital health, dedicated to helping millions of people sleep, breathe, and live better lives. We are looking for a systems thinker to join the Devices Systems Team and drive the future of healthcare technology.

Let's talk about the team:

The primary objective of Devices Systems (Product Development) is to develop product engineering requirements and risk assessments, and guide designs at an architectural level through to verification and submission, ensuring that products meet customer and business expectations for safety, regulatory, quality, performance, functionality, reliability, and efficacy. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Electronics, Mechanical, Software/Algorithm and V&V Teams in Singapore to enhance the diagnostic capabilities within our device portfolio, bringing new and innovative features to market.

Let’s talk about the Product team:

The Diagnostics Product Team within Resmed’s Devices Product Development department is responsible for developing products which meet the needs of patients who want to determine if they have sleep disorders such as Apnea or those who want to monitor their health while being treated. Its output includes sensor technology, processing algorithms, and low energy, battery powered, wirelessly connected devices. It interacts with other related product teams such as mobile apps, server software and therapeutic device teams. It’s a fast-growing area of Resmed’s ecosystem and one with incredible opportunity to directly benefit millions of patients.

Let's talk about the role:

As a Systems Engineer, you will:

Decompose Design Inputs from groups such as clinical, marketing, medical and regulatory affairs to write requirements, conduct risk assessments and manage traceability of requirements through to verification.

Co-ordinate and collaborate with design and engineering disciplines to architect and develop design outputs.

Work with Senior Team members to support design architecture and interface design to ensure successful integration with compatible devices and compliance to global regulations and standards.

Collaborate with design and engineering disciplines to develop design outputs.

Support demonstration of product performance with full traceability of requirements to supporting evidence.

Develop and maintain the risk management activities.

Support root cause analysis, issue evaluation and resolution of technical issues with collaboration of engineering disciplines and subject matter experts.

Communicate technical delivery milestones and risk to stakeholders.

Engage with system engineering leaders for personal on-going development including process comprehension and tool awareness.

Ensure adherence to systems engineering principles and quality system processes.

Let’s talk about you:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering. A postgraduate qualification in Biomedical Engineering would be an advantage.

You have sufficient work experience to contribute effectively as an Engineer in the medical device space at a senior level.

Excellent communication, documentation, and technical writing skills.

Familiarity with medical device development processes and good practices including risk management.

Familiarity with hardware and software/algorithm development, integration and testing for medical devices.

Proficiency in discipline specific development tools (such as JIRA, JAMA, Confluence).

You are a natural collaborator, a systems thinker, analytical and empathetic.
