We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join the team with Nexus, a teammate company.\n
The Senior Systems Engineer will:\n\nBe responsible for the planning, development, review, and maintenance of requirements and verification plans.\nPrepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)\nWork with team members to identify risks, develop risk statements, and to help them plan risk responses.\nPerform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall system design and performance.\nUtilize a requirements management software and systems engineering tool such as DOORS, Cradle or Jama.\nCreate and manage requirements for various projects - including flow down from NASA Program to contractor Project through verification closeout as well as interface definition between subsystems\nWork in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and raise issues.\nMaintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors.\nPerform other tasks assigned.\u200b\n\n \n

Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.\n\nTypically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area\nExperience leading technical teams\nExperience designing and leading complex system development which includes both hardware and software configuration items\nExperience leading development projects\nKnowledge of the systems engineering process\nKnowledge of the system lifecycle\nKnowledge of the systems development lifecycle to include hardware and software development process\nUnderstanding of the space system certification process\nUnderstanding of Design for Sustainment methodology\nExcellent written and verbal communication across multiple disciplines\nKnowledge and work experience in a Systems Engineering role in a NASA, DoD, or Aerospace environment.\nExperience with requirements management, verification and validation definition and execution, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware.\nExperience with the concept development, concept of operation and operational concept definition, architecture definition, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware.\nAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.\nFamiliarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Office products.\nExperience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware.\u200b\u200b\n\n
Requisition Preferences:\n\n\u200bINCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.\nBasic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools.\nExperience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes\nWorking knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.\nFamiliarity with NASA\/JSC documentation databases and share point sites as well as typical systems engineering software products.\nExperience in technical or team leadership roles\u200b\n
