About the role

Globally, Rabobank has an ambitious sustainability agenda which include climate, nature and people-related  commitments. The Sustainability Team within Rabobank Australia aims to translate this global agenda into local strategy and deliver meaningful action. The Sustainability team has a key role in defining, planning, and executing on sustainability related strategies through knowledge programs, partnerships and transition finance solutions and policy implementation. .The sustainability function works closely with business stakeholders in Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, North America and Brazil to leverage skills and knowledge and deliver value to clients and stakeholders.

Specifically this role sits within the sustainability strategy and business integration function within the Australian sustainability team. This function develops strategy related to sustainable finance, client transition, partnerships, knowledge programs and integrating sustainability into credit assessments. In addition to supporting strategy and planning, this role leads the drafting of the modern slavery statement, oversees and actions the implementation of the modern slavery action plan,  supports the policy review process, supports local and global reporting requirements, provides project management for local initiatives, co-ordinates the sustainability communication plan and oversees sustainability team administrative tasks.

The key responsibilities and accountabilities of this role are to:

Support the co-ordination and execution of sustainability projects, pilots, training and other initiativesCo-ordinate the Modern Slavery working group including engaging with stakeholders in the United Kingdom and the NetherlandsDraft the Modern Slavery statement and engage with key stakeholders to ensure the statement satisfies local regulatory requirementsImplement and oversee the delivery of the Modern Slavery action planDevelop project plans and provide project management for key sustainability initiativesLead the administrative functions of the teamSupport analysis and input into Country x Sector Plan reporting requirements and associated projects; Support communications and engagement activities of the Sustainability team across the businessCo-ordinate the policy review  process including engaging with local stakeholders and subject-matter experts, co-ordinating feedback and engaging with global stakeholders.Support the Sustainability Team with a variety of administrative tasks in relation to projects, pilots, IT and meeting arrangements

To be successful in the role, you will have:

Bachelor’s degree or Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, agricultural science, sustainability or other relevant disciplines.Experience in the finance sector.Experience in sustainability analysis and reportingExperience in development of sustainability strategies and plans.An understanding of ESG policies.Understanding of sustainability and ESG regulations, guidelines, and reporting frameworksHigh degree of knowledge in MS Office Suite, Power Bi and data analysis skillsProject and workflow management skillsGood communication skillsProject management and written communication skills
