Senior Supply Planner
Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries. Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsoft's cloud business. **Responsibilities** Key outcomes and metrics for this role are customer fulfillment lead-times and bi-dimensional supply-chain health (ensuring healthy supply while also minimizing overall and aging inventory). The role of Senior Supply Chain Program Manager will also be responsible for driving cross-functional projects and business initiatives across CSCP to improve customer experience and reduce operational costs. + The primary focus will be on developing, running, and improving processes to drive operational excellence in the areas of: + Component and/or FG Supply Planning + Inventory stocking strategy (Define buffer targets and strategies based on historical usage and forecast, and define financial risk/liability associated with proposed buffers) + New product mass production readiness and end-of-life planning. + Perform rough-cut supply and build planning and supply smoothing to define the Plan of Record for Tier 1 and/or Tier 2 suppliers. + Perform scenario analysis to understand impact of component shortages, demand upside/downside, etc. to Plan of Record. + Provide clear reporting insights and analytics on forecast accuracy and volatility as well as execution to the Supply Plan of Record; work with Capacity Planning, Operations and Sourcing teams to identify root cause and implement solutions to mitigate issues. + Use industry intelligence data and long-range demand projections to demonstrate market share status and business impact of anticipated growth. + Lead key strategic initiatives and cross-functional process improvements with key stakeholders across the organization. + Represent leadership team in various forums and work with the teams on actions and deliverables. + Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Suppliers to establish and ensure all requirements for fulfillment are met. + Interface with demand planning, deployment, sourcing, logistics, data center operations and engineering to build processes, drive optimization, garner supply chain efficiencies and improve delivery performance. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience + OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience + OR equivalent experience. + 3+ years working experience in Operations and/or Supply Planning. + 3+ years of experience with SAP IBP/ERP and Integrated Business Planning process management. **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 5+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience + OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 4+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience + OR equivalent experience. + Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with key stakeholders & Procurement, Operations, Planning and Deployment functions. + Analytical skills and knowledge in root cause analysis/problem solving and the ability to implement and drive corrective actions and efficiencies in a matrix environment. + MBA/MS preferred. + 10+ years in program management and/or operations management in IT hardware supply chain. + Experience in leading large-scale programs, and a proven track record of successfully setting up and executing supply chain operational processes. + Experience with deriving insights and actions from data and driving process improvement based on those. + Ability to lead in ambiguous situations, and deal effectively with conflicting priorities and changes. + Proficient with SQL, PowerBI, Excel modeling, and able to generate quality outputs. + Experience in working with global and cross-functional internal and external teams in a fast-paced environment. + Experience in operations planning. + Cloud / high tech supply chain experience is a plus. + Influencing skills and ability to build relationships across multiple layers in the organization. Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
