Minimum qualifications:

As a Supplier Development Engineer at Google, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality manufacturing and delivery of packaging components that are essential for protecting our devices and providing an exceptional user experience. This position encompasses technical program management, process engineering, and quality engineering, with an emphasis on collaborating with external suppliers throughout both the New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining mass production phases. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of packaging materials from the initial receipt of raw materials through printing, structural forming, assembly processes at supplier sites, and final delivery to our device factories. During the NPI phase, you will engage with the Design team, sourcing managers, and potential suppliers, contributing to crucial decisions such as supplier selection and ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles are effectively implemented. You will develop and refine the quality management systems of our packaging suppliers. You will work closely with them to elevate their processes to meet Google's quality standards and expectations, driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and timely delivery of packaging materials.

+ Develop and implement supplier management strategies for Google hardware packaging, collaborating with Global Supply Manager (GSM) and Product Engineer (PE).

+ Oversee new product development builds in supplier factories, focusing on high yield rates and efficient pack-out operations.
+ Own packaging supplier manufacturing readiness for new product introductions and manage overall quality.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Industrial Designers and Design Engineers to ensure packaging quality and manufacturability. Provide technical support and training to suppliers, ensuring compliance with Google's specifications and quality standards.
