We are now looking for a Senior Superintendent, 4-stroke to join our Field Service Marine team around the world, working for a better future. This position is open for Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico y Panama. 

 

What will you be doing?

This role is designed to support both external and internal customers across South America and other global time zones.

Activities include leading field service operations such as engine overhauls, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Wärtsilä 4-stroke marine engines.

The position involves managing onsite teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering expert technical support with a strong customer focus.

This position reports to the Resources Coordinator.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Supervise and perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke engines by Wärtsilä employees and subcontractors; Conduct advanced troubleshooting of 4 stroke medium speed engines, and auxiliary systems; Interact professionally with customers during service delivery; Have advanced knowledge of Wärtsilä products and solutions; Act as commissioning engineer and lead related activities; Lead and manage the assigned onsite team and related activities during work execution; Elaborate the Service Work Reports; Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures; Follow up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders; Continuously seek solutions according to best practices; Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wartsila solutions and products to customers.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• A safety-first mindset;

• A passion for developing your 4-stroke engines knowledge to the next level;

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical qualifications;

• Solid experience in 4-stroke engines repair and overhaul;

• Proven experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems;

• Ability to engage with customers professionally;

• Problem-solving oriented;

• Experience on medium-speed Electric and Automation systems of 4-stroke is a plus;

• Fluent English skill language;

• Intermediate Spanish required, and Portuguese is a plus.
