Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team based in our New Orleans, Louisiana office in a hybrid capacity having the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects with a focus on highway, railway and transit structures including bridge, culverts and retaining walls.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Lead the structural design for all project types, including complex bridge designsLead the planning and schematic/geometric layout of new structuresPerform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriatePrepare plan drawings and details, construction specifications and design calculationsPerform Construction and Life Cycle Cost estimates and prepare load rating calculationsOversee project construction administration including reviews of shop drawings and Requests for InformationSupervise and direct staff engineers and technicians to meet project deadlines as well as scope and budget requirementsAssist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work and be responsible for quality assurance of deliverables
What your experience looks like
BS in Structural Engineering.Licensed PE in Louisiana.Experience with LADOTD RequiredPrior experience with complex bridge projects a plusExperience with proposals and business development activities. Proficient in MicroStationKnowledge AASHTO and bridge analysis, design and detailing preferred10+ years progressively responsible relevant experience in a Structural Engineer role Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and techniciansExhibits strong verbal and written communication skillsProficient with the use of computers including spreadsheets, word processing, and engineering software and ability to prepare electronic design calculation documentsDemonstrates the ability to work collaboratively within multi-discipline project teams that may be remoteAbility to plan ones’ own time and manage the time of others, as needed, demonstrates good time management skillsAbility to problem solve, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and exercise sound engineering judgmentAbility to work on several projects concurrentlyStrong sense of urgency and self- initiative to meet client deadlinesKnowledge of structural analysis software including SAP-CSI, AASHTOWareBrR, LARSA 4D or similar preferredAbility to mentor Structural engineersStrong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment
