Kforce has a client in Napa, CA that is seeking a Senior Statutory Accountant. Summary: The Senior Statutory Accountant is responsible for the preparation of the Annual Statement in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles. They will compile and analyze financial information and transactions to prepare entries to post to general ledger. The Accountant prepares quarterly/annual statutory financial statements and related supplemental filings, assists with the company's internal and external audits, and completes account reconciliations and variance analysis. Contacts are employees, customers and vendors. This position works under general supervision. General Accounting * Perform monthly financial close activities including journal entry preparation and review * Perform complex account reconciliations * Perform period to period variance analysis * Work with data from multiple source systems * Ensure accuracy of financial reports * Work with others to ensure consistent reporting * Provide timely responses and documentation to inquiries from internal and external auditors Statutory Financial Reporting: * Preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and supporting schedules including Schedule P and footnote disclosures * Assist in preparation of statutory management discussion and analysis * Complete all state specific supplements/data calls
