We are seeking an outcome-oriented Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) to join our team and work directly with strategic customers, product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams. In this role, you’ll identify leading pain points, rapidly prototype solutions, and translate those solutions into scalable features within our core platform—driving real impact across the healthcare ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

Embed with Customers: Partner deeply with clinicians, administrators, and technical stakeholders to understand their workflows and challenges. Build trust through hands-on collaboration and serve as a technical thought partner throughout the solution lifecycle.Rapid Prototyping & Delivery: Design and build full-stack applications and features that address critical customer needs. Move quickly from ideation to implementation, leveraging your engineering expertise to deliver high-impact solutions.Translate to Core Product: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure successful prototypes evolve into durable, scalable features that align with GE HealthCare’s long-term product vision.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with UX, product management, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless solution implementation and intuitive user experiences.Broad Organizational Impact:Provide valuable feedback to enhance our products based on client needs and market trends.Build solutions that improve the platform across our rapidly growing customer base.Collaborate with other product and engineering teams to ensure development efforts are accretive to our long-term strategy.Own End-to-End Execution: Lead projects from discovery through deployment, often acting as a startup CTO—making architectural decisions, coding, and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Who You Are

A strong software engineer with experience in at least front-end, preferred full-stack developmentComfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with minimal supervisionA customer obsessed individual passionate about user experienceSkilled at communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesPassionate about solving real-world problems in healthcare and delivering measurable impactExperienced in working directly with customers or cross-functional teamsWilling to travel and work on-site with customers as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of delivering impactful solutionsProven experience in front-end development and experience with AI coding tools such as V0, Bolt, Cursor, ReplitFamiliarity with Figma or similar design toolsDemonstrated ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams to identify problems and deliver solutionsWillingness to travel and work on-site with strategic customers as needed

Proven experience in full-stack development (e.g., Python, JavaScript, React) and building scalable applicationsStrong understanding of UX principles and their application in healthcare and enterprise contexts; able to quantify design effectiveness and drive adoptionDeep experience with Agile methodologies; able to coach teams and drive continuous improvementFamiliarity with modern software practices including CI/CD, test automation, and XP techniques

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $162,840.00-$244,260.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
