We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join our state-of-the-art Global Centre of Excellence for Additive Manufacturing and Research in Cork, Ireland.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Staff Engineer in Additive Manufacturing, you will work closely with our Additive Technology Development partners to set direction on future additive technology, working at the forefront of innovation.

Drive strategy for a suite of advanced additive technologies including Ebeam, LRM, and SLS printing.

Collaborate closely with technical leads and subject matter experts in existing technologies.

Partner with the Additive Tech Development team to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies aligned with manufacturing readiness and performance needs.

Oversee and optimise post-additive processes such as powder removal and heat treatment.

Act as a key technical interface with the DFAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing) team, ensuring end-to-end alignment from design through to production.

Operate within the Industrial Engineer Additive group, contributing to both Personalised Solutions and Implants portfolios.

Works cooperatively with, senior technical leaders, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure programme success.

Leads advanced troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.

Provides a platform of knowledge on Additively Manufactured Materials, such as Metals and Polymers, by providing relevant training and direction for junior team members.

What You Need

B.S. or M.S. degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or applicable technical field

Proven experience in additive manufacturing, ideally across multiple technologies (e.g., Ebeam, LRM, SLS).

Strong understanding of post-processing techniques and manufacturing requirements.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical strategies and manage innovation pipelines.

Experience in Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) highly desirable.

At least 6 years of experience applicable to medical device design or equivalent

Ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-based environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
