Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team and take ownership of critical accounting functions. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage general ledger operations, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling sub-ledgers to general ledger balances, and maintaining supporting schedules.
Oversee and participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including variance analyses and fixed asset schedules.
Review and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes; prepare monthly budget variance analyses.
Assess internal controls, perform risk assessments, and support internal control evaluations to identify and mitigate risk areas.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing required documentation and explanations.
Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA track preferred.
+ 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
