Senior Specialist Customs

Purpose:

Responsible for the administrative management necessary for the proper functioning of the Customs Warehouse, including Centralized Clearances and other customs activities, in accordance with Company regulations and current Customs Regulations.

Ensure compliant, timely, and accurate management of customs processes and documents in Spain, and facilitate a smooth flow of customs activities performed in Spain.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day documentation for import and export customs processes related to the bonded Distribution Center (DC). Handle exceptions autonomously, both internally and externally. Proactively monitor the status of import and export customs on the authority’s system. Investigate root causes of recurrent issues and escalate to the Customs Manager as necessary. Coordinate and follow up on all customs payments with the team. Ensure proper functionality of the DMS system, detect errors, resolve incidents, and report issues to the Customs Manager. Assist and support projects or initiatives led by the Customs Manager in Spain. Collaborate cross-functionally, especially with various teams located in Spain. Execute checks and controls to support compliance processes and procedures, including AEO authorizations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

In-depth knowledge of customs legislation and processes. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Proactive, self-motivated, and autonomous. Excellent planning, organization, and document management skills. Effective teamwork abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced level in Excel and Access). Experience with SAP and GESADU. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

 

Requisite Education and Experience:

University degree, preferably in a Technical or Economic-business area. Specific training in Foreign Trade. At least 3 years of professional experience in the Logistics/Customs department, preferably in the distribution and consumption sector within a multinational company.
