Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain an exceptional level of expertise in the detail design practices of SEL protection and automation systems.
2. Develop and maintain an exceptional level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric power system protection and automation.
3. Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.
4. Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
5. Work in a safe, healthful and environmentally sound manner, report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly, and perform ergonomic exercises to reduce likelihood of injuries.
6. Provide support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering, and development activities.
7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience/military school training8 plus years of experience with electrical power systems or industrial automation system practiceGood knowledge of system protection, integration, and automation applications working knowledge of electric power systems and protective relay applicationsExcellent technical trainingAbility to work independently, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilitiesWilling to travel as neededStrong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentBackground check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and/or generation systemsExperience being a part of project team*Disciplines include Automation, Protection, System Design & Relay Technician.Physical Requirements
