Position Summary
Join our global travel team within Bristol Myers Squibb’s (BMS) procurement organization, where you will play a vital role in directing and operating our travel program.
As the Senior Specialist, Regional Travel Operations, you will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Services & Operations and collaborate closely with the Associate Director of Global Travel.

Lead strategic global initiatives, including the annual Hotel RFP and data analytics.Develop a comprehensive understanding of BMS’s end-to-end travel program for effective governance.Balance risk management, commercial objectives, and enhance traveller experience.Support category strategy development and drive operational efficiencies.Contribute to a dynamic team focused on optimizing travel experiences for BMS. Key Responsibilities
EMEA/APAC regional lead for BMS Global Travel Program
Subject matter expert on BMS end-to-end travel program and industry / market trendsEscalation point for business leaders, procurement partners and travellers/arrangers in the regionPartner with outsourced Travel Management provider and Online Booking Tool provider to ensure effective daily tactical and overall strategic governance of the BMS travel programSupplier relationship management for preferred local providers (e.g. air/hotel/rail); build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships and oversee key metrics for supplier performanceEvaluate services to enhance travel experiencesEnforce travel policies and controls; facilitate engagement with BMS travellers through various communication channels (Online Booking Tool, Travel SharePoint, Viva, Admin forums, etc.)EMEA/APAC travel representation for crisis management, in partnership with Corporate SecurityLead Global Hotel Program
Manage annual, global Hotel program (RFP supported by outsourced travel management provider)Identify and evaluate potential hotel partners that meet the company's standards and requirements; promote and incorporate sustainable practices within the hotel programNegotiate corporate rates and discounts with hotel partners; monitor and analyse hotel spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and trends.Data Analytics Strategy
Oversee BMS Travel Program data lake, supported by 3rd party provider, ensuring a seamless user experience (i.e. data accuracy/availability, testing, deployment of new features)Assist in fostering user engagement from Business and Finance Partners to identify cost savings opportunities / opportunities for budget optimizationCollaborate with provider and users to address escalated issues with respect to data quality, data lake performance and/or user experienceStrategic Sourcing and Project Management Initiatives
Lead strategic sourcing and strategic project management initiatives, including:Air contracts, sourcing ancillary travel operational servicesIdentify and champion process improvements, recommending new ways of working for program experience and engagementFinancial / Administrative Responsibilities
Coordinate/advise on financials with SAP for PO’s and CTA’s; maintain proper invoicing and payments for TMC settlements in certain countriesQualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements
B.S./B.A. (Hospitality, Business or Engineering desirable)Demonstrable relevant work experience, with travel industry experienceUnderstanding of travel processes, technology and systems (e.g., agency processes and experience, proficient in online booking tools (i.e., Concur), hotel/air pricing methodologies, ancillary services)Ability to partner with, manage and influence internal stakeholders within a highly matrixed organizationEffective communication and client service skills (e.g. to handle escalations)Strong understanding of data analytics; expertise in project and performance managementDemonstrated experience with supplier relationship management and supplier negotiationsExcellent MS Excel skillsProficiency in MS PowerPointPreferred Qualifications
