The expected annual salary range for this role is $108749.97 - $159499.96 a year.

**What you’ll do:**
Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Global Trade Management to join our team. This position is eligible for a hybrid work set up if candidates lives within 50 miles of Eaton site. Position is eligible for a remote work setup in the U.S. if not in the geographical area of Beachwood, OH.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing global duty and tariff management programs. In particular, this position will work to monitor, research and determine impact of Customs tariffs and other trade related regulations. Drive cost avoidance and savings for the organization. This role will focus on new opportunities for duty reductions in the U.S. while also developing metrics to measure and identify other opportunities outside of the U.S. This will be a highly visible role within GTM. This position will be expected to partner with Senior Business Leaders to understand how GTM can deliver additional value to the organization.
In this function you will:
• Identify new tariff changes and model impact for Eaton businesses. Summarize key changes and drive awareness across the enterprise.
• Knowledge and support of the drawback program for Eaton that aligns to the new regulatory changes and maximizes recoveries. Work to automate data flows and recordkeeping to ensure compliance.
• Responsible for establishing metrics and managing the external drawback providers and ensuring performance exceeds expectations.
• Review company usage of Chapter 98 programs /US Goods Returned to ensure the program maximizes recoveries and avoidance.
• Drive Special Program use including free trade agreements, foreign trade zones, bonded warehouses, exemptions, and allowances to ensure maximum tariff mitigation.
• Document the process to follow for each duty savings and tariff mitigation program implemented and ensure inclusion of the process in the Eaton Import Manual. Drive training and awareness across business teams.
• Work to identify tariff engineering projects and country of origin changes to drive tariff savings.
• Partner with Eaton businesses and team members to identify savings opportunities in cross border deliveries.
• Analyze opportunities to partner with suppliers, customers and other business partners to maximize recovery of tariffs paid.
• Align recordkeeping practices with recovery and reduction programs to ensure Eaton is in compliance with regulations.
• Development of metrics to track savings, cost avoidance, duty outlays, and efficiency of import and export operations.
• Lead the development and implementation of tariff management best practices across the GTM global teams. Conduct benchmarking across peers to identify further opportunities.
**Qualifications:**
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution required.
• Minimum of 5 (five) years’ experience in trade management.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred qualifications:
• 5+ years’ experience managing duty recovery and minimization programs
• Experience with IEEPA tariffs and Sections 232 / 301 tariffs
• US Licensed Customs broker
• Data analytics experience to assess potential savings opportunities.
• Expertise with free trade agreement rules of origin and application to manufacturing operations
• Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures
• Must have strong writing, speaking, and presentation skills at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment with multiple competing priorities.
• Provide strategic vision for organization design and execute necessary actions.
• Knowledge of various ERP systems- mainly SAP and Oracle
• Proven ability to identify continuous improvement ideas and driving implementation.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, communication skills.
• Ability to think critically and have strong project/program management skills.
• Detail oriented, possessing excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to shift roles as required by the group dynamic (e.g. contributor, facilitator).
• Self-motivated and able to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
• Knowledge of audit and assessment procedures and evaluation of internal controls.
**Additional Information:**
Position Criteria:
• Expertise interpreting US Customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedule, executive orders, Federal Register publications and other US Govt agency publications related to tariff management.
• Experienced with the application of rules of origin with USMCA and additional US free trade agreements.
• Demonstrated understanding of duty reduction programs
• Strong project leadership skills and the ability to work on a global team with members of varying experience levels.
• Expect 10% travel as determined by the business' needs.
