Senior Specialist, Global Platform Management & Governance

The Global Platform Management & Governance Team is responsible for designing and developing a streamlined Governance framework, the approach and operating model to support the needs of the GWAM business and partnering closely with all critical functions to achieve success.

The teams’ purpose is to ensure that Global Wealth & Asset Management has the best possible suite of platforms in the target markets. The need to understand the regional and country competitive landscape and business environment is incredibly important, in addition to understanding the regulatory landscape within each operating country and the landscape for cross border funds.

This role operates in a fast-paced environment and requires a highly motivated self-starter, who welcomes targets and accountability and is proactive in delivering and maintaining strong governance, clear and open communication and consistency in policies and process.

Reporting to the Head of Global Fund Board Management, the candidate will leverage their expertise to help define and execute against Manulife Asset Management overall strategic plan. The main objective will be to Design the global governance framework and policies leading to harmonization of the Board Management process. In addition, the team will provide project management and analysis as it relates to harmonization of the policies and process.

Position Responsibilities:

Board Management (60%)

Support the development and implementation of a Global Fund Board Framework from securing approval to each aspect of the implementation, which includes:Support the drafting and organize review and approval process for a Global Fund Board Policy, Standard and Board Mandates, working closely with Legal, Compliance and other functionsMaintain and update the Global Fund Board Calendar, coordinating dates with CoSec GloballySupport the implementation of a policies repository, with the view to harmonize the Fund policies globallySupport the development of board efficiencies surveys and expertise matrix, working closely with CoSec and Functions in the businessSupport initiatives to improve board efficiencies, such as developing templates, and reviewing administrative tasksEngage with the functions and support the development of processes & implementation of the framework aboveIdentify tools to better support and harmonize the Board Management Process and the extended Global Platform Management and Governance team, including PowerApp, PowerBi, etcSupport Global Fund Boards with recommendations for improvements e efficienciesThis is a new role within the organization so responsibilities may evolve overtime. All of the above will be supported with the guidance and partnership with the Head of Global Fund Management

Platform Maintenance & Governance (20%)

Input/Review fund related data for third party vendor templates e.g., Allfunds, Fundinfo etc.Coordinate with Citi Fund Corporate services/Management Company/Board/Manulife stakeholders on execution of legal agreements, resolutions, SLA’s, certificate of residence, fee letters etc.Periodically update fund country registration matrix and list of distributorsSupport the platform reporting with the production of:List of share classes registered in different countriesMGF Reg MatrixMarketing & Distribution Reports to General Distributor of MGF & MAF BoardsKIID ProductionThe above list of tasks is an indication of the job scope, the individual may be called upon to support other platform related tasks as and when required.

  

Product Implementation and Project Management (20%)

Provide technical support to the Investment Product & Platform team as and when required.Engage with stakeholders in HK, Europe & US to deliver BAU reporting.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of working experience in in any financial services company. Experience in investment products would be advantageousUniversity graduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fieldProficient in Microsoft Office tools and other investment industry standard data sources.Must be willing to work on hybrid arrangement in Quezon City, and report on night shift schedule.

Good organizational and time management skills - ability to manage multiple tasks.Good writing skills with some experience or good understanding of writing policies and procedures an advantageGood analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to utilize and articulate independent thought and judgment is highly valued.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with various internal partiesAble to adapt to fast changing environment, organized and detailed-oriented.Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
