The Procurement Next Generation product team in the Procurement Product Family, provides digital and core SAP solutions to fulfil the requirements from BASF companies globally.
The main objectives of a Senior Solution Designer are to effectively bridge the gap between business and technical aspects of the organization by understanding and challenging business requirements, while delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions that align with BASF's strategic goals and standardized frameworks. This role also aims to foster collaboration among stakeholders and drive the implementation of cutting-edge digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Bridge the gap between business and technical sides of an organization with a profound knowledge of existing solutions and an overview of technology and interfaces. Understand and challenge business requirements, processes, and customer needs, adding value to solutions and matching them with existing tools and technologies. Analyzing business requirement, Fit-Gap analysis, gap closure and solution design Support build and implementation activities with functional testing, support user acceptance test including error handling, cutover and post go-live support Collaborate with stakeholders and deliver as-is analysis, solution proposals, cost estimates and project plans. Focus on designing, re-designing or improving processes, gathering and challenging business and technical requirements and closely collaborating with IBPs and Software Engineers. Support the definition of the product strategy, challenge existing processes and ways of working, focusing on innovation and cutting-edge solutions. It is expected that all tasks will be performed according to the standardized BASF guidelines and framework, such as Project Lifecycle, Global Release Management and GSKC; as well as agile new methods (such as scrum/Kanban) consistently. Able to communicate complex contexts convincingly to the stakeholders within BASF and build stable relationships. In the digitalization/innovation aspect, act as a Global representative of BASF Digital community, supporting BASF Digital roadmap, helping GDS to identify, execute and implement customer-centric digital solutions in an actionable and measurable way. REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Bachelor’s degree in Business IT, Business Economics, Business SCM, Information Science In addition to the respective native language, (very) good command of written and spoken English 5+ years of experience in process design, process management, or process improvement, ideally within Procurement Solid experience with SAP P2P processes, including hands-on knowledge of SAP MM and FI modules. Strong knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes, compliance, and operational best practices. S/4HANA implementation and roll-out experience Integration experience with other SAP modules such as Finance, Sales and Distribution, Manufacturing and Planning, Plant Maintenance Excellent English communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in an international team combined with a very high level of customer orientation. Well-developed proactive and self-driven character. High sense of responsibility to have conflict awareness and management skills. Ability to prioritize work based on business priorities, and to identify and resolve potential conflicts. NICE TO HAVE
Proficient in R/3 and S/4HANA upgrade activities. SAP S/4HANA Certified Associate Sourcing and Procurement Experience with test script creation (SXP) and test automation tools. Internal Knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Work Request process as a SPOC. Experiencing Agile way of working or agile implementation approach.
