What You'll Do
THE ROLE
As part of BCG X’s product business, you will become a member of the Smart Banking AI product team, focusing on the core offerings within the SME & Business Banking space, aimed at helping financial institutions to infuse AI/ML at the heart of their business development & risk assessment. You will use your data science/analytics capabilities as well as expertise in the banking industry to drive product development and ensure successful customization and deployment on client projects. Prior exposure to banking will be a plus, however not mandatory.
As part of the product team, consisting of software and data engineering experts as well as topics experts & BCG X consulting teams, you will become a product expert to represent Smart Banking AI on BCG X client projects, support case team members as well as maintain the core product and develop new features. You might be required to travel for work (20-30%).

Your product-focused approach enhances and complements consulting teams, enabling the development of robust, data-driven software solutions. Prior experience in analytics engagements or software product development, particularly within financial services, is a strong advantage.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and deliver advanced analytics and decision-support tools for financial institutions
Contribute to BCG client projects by leveraging a customizable Python-based codebase to develop tailored solutions for use cases such as credit risk modeling, pricing optimization, and cross-sell modelsServe as a product expert and key technical advisor on projects that utilize these proprietary software toolsSupport clients and BCG teams in adopting and using the software effectively, acting as a domain and product expert for end usersCoordinate technical and data integration requirements with client IT teams to ensure smooth implementation within existing technology landscapes
Drive product development.
Maintain and enhance the Python-based product platform, including both software development and the curation of relevant data sources used in areas such as credit scoring, transaction behavior analysis, and pricing elasticity modelsDrive development of new features in close collaboration with the product owner and cross-functional stakeholdersStay informed about the latest trends and regulatory developments in credit risk, pricing, and customer analytics in financial services to ensure the product remains competitiveSupport business development by demonstrating the product’s capabilities to potential clients and internal teams

What You'll Bring
Preferred Master’s degree with demonstrated high academic achievement, preferably in quantitative sciences (e.g., mathematics, statistics, or computer science engineering), other data/analytical centric disciplines, or business administration (with a focus in finance or economics and relevant exposure to quantitative analytics)3-5 years of experience working in a consulting environment or a financial institutionExcellent analytical & problem-solving skills, incl. experience in picking up new topics quickly, conceptualizing the solutions, test different approachesStrong knowledge of machine learning in python and good familiarity with widely used machine learning packages such as Scikit learn etc.Proficient in data engineering and software development skills in Python, including experience with collaborative code development (e.g., Git) and other tools for large scale software development as well as hands on exposure to different analytical tools, databases, and visualization toolsStrong product mindset with the drive to build lasting and re-usable software solutionsAbility to efficiently communicate analytical insights through sophisticated synthesis and packaging of results (including PowerPoint presentation, documents, dashboard, and charts)GOOD TO HAVE
