The Fedora Quality team is dedicated to ensuring the continuous quality of Fedora releases. Our team develops, maintains, and uses a suite of tools to automate both the testing and the related processes. We regularly work with other teams and contributors in and outside of Red Hat.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Quality Engineer. In this role, you’ll bring both your technical expertise and quality engineering mindset to ensure that Fedora’s releases adhere to quality standards. This is a hands-on position with significant room for initiative and creativity. You’ll play a key role in investigating issues, designing workflows and processes, test automation, and working across departments to coordinate and prioritize new features. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What will you do

Develop and maintain automation of tests and quality-related processes.

Perform tests, identify and help resolve issues affecting Fedora users.

Engage with other Red Hat teams to coordinate on cross-functional projects and issues.

Participate in Fedora community discussions to address quality-related concerns.

What will you bring

Quality Engineering mindset: Able to break and fix systems, with a knack for identifying potential issues and a commitment to thorough investigation.

Critical thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues independently.

Effective communication: Experience communicating effectively with other teams and departments across a broad organization.

Adaptability: Able to prioritize and switch tasks in a dynamic environment.

The following are considered a plus

Python development skills. The team mostly maintains scripts interacting with system tools and web services, and develops small web-based applications (frontend, backend, database).

A keen interest in a wide spectrum of IT related topics.

Passion for Linux, open source and community.
