Role Summary
Wabtec’s KinetiX team is responsible for the design, delivery, and support the KinetiX inspection technologies products to railroads worldwide. The Kinetix Inspection Technologies is a suite of product solutions that facilitates the automated proactive monitoring of rolling stock condition from component level to full train inspection. In this role you’ll be responsible for leading design and development for software system test automation for Rail Transportation software products. Work independently, perform quality testing and automation across KinetiX products portfolio. Contribute to and drive best practices in all areas of Quality Engineering. Own cross-cutting quality engineering tasks and deliver, while helping other team members to deliver stable software releases.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead technical design, documentation and implementation of test automation frameworks and best practices
Partner with software architects and engineering leaders to make strategic technical decisions as well as technology/tools choices
Collaborate with team members within the team and across the business to perform end-to-end system testing and to identify solutions for technical challenges pertaining to quality engineering
Partner with product and engineering leaders to derive non-functional requirements and lead NFR (Non-Functional Requirements) test automation
Ability to drive improvement and transformation efforts for the betterment of the overall product quality
Develop and execute maintainable automation tests for functional, regression, integration and non-functional test cases
Create a robust system testing environment for avoiding escapes to production
Demonstrate deep understanding of testing methodologies, competitive landscape, latest trends and technologies in Quality Engineering
Qualifications/Requirements
Master's/bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in test automation for enterprise software systems
Minimum of 1 year of professional experience with leading team and quality engineering designs for Embedded software systems and Web portal
Experience with variety of quality engineering methodologies and frameworks
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of industry-standard test automation tools and technologies like Java, Python, PyTest, Selenium, Test NG, JMeter, etc.
Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum framework and SDLC best practices
Expert in creating and maintaining standard automation frameworks
Expert in developing test strategies, test plans and test cases
Ability to quickly analyze, reproduce, and summarize issues that require escalations and/or Bug Fixes
Ability to learn fast and quickly diagnose potential software system issues
Working knowledge of CI/CD processes and application monitoring tools
Expert in core data structures, algorithms and design patterns
Working knowledge of tools like Jira, GitLab, Confluence documentation, etc.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally on a global scale across cultures & geographies
