Unlock your ambition, turn ideas into world-changing realities, and join an organization where every voice makes a difference, and every difference builds a healthier world. **Job Description** **Roles and Responsibilities:** + Design, build, deliver, and maintain software applications and services across machine, cloud, platform, and application domains. + Own the full software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, architecture, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and operations. + Lead engineering teams as a first-line or second-line manager, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. + Develop specialized knowledge in software engineering and serve as a resource for best practices and quality standards. + Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to improve engineering outcomes and product capabilities. + Contribute to strategy and policy development within the engineering organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivery excellence. + Make informed decisions using technical expertise and data analysis, solving moderately complex problems in engineering, product, or operational domains. + Collaborate across functions and geographies, using influence and persuasion to drive consensus and alignment. + Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues and lead small to mid-sized projects with moderate risk and resource requirements. + While primarily a leadership role, the position requires hands-on technical contributions when necessary—especially in areas such as architecture reviews, prototyping, debugging, or accelerating delivery on critical paths. **Educational Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s or Master’ s degree in Engineering with experience in the Digital Technology & Software Engineering. **Desired Characteristics:** + **Engineering Leadership** : Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development. + **Strategic Execution** : Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy and drive execution across multiple teams and projects. + **Software Delivery Expertise** : Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations. + **Technical Depth** : Proficiency in Java/Python and modern frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Microservices), with hands-on experience in building scalable and resilient systems. + **Cloud & Infrastructure** : Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions). + **AI-Augmented Development** : Exposure to AI-assisted software development practices, including tools for code generation, automated testing, intelligent debugging, and documentation (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine). + **Security & Reliability** : Familiarity with secure communication protocols (e.g., mTLS), PKI, and designing systems for high availability and fault tolerance. + **Cross-functional Collaboration** : Ability to work effectively with Product, Design, QA, and Business stakeholders to align engineering efforts with strategic priorities. + **Data-Driven Decision Making** : Experience using metrics, KPIs, and data analysis to guide team performance and product decisions. + **Change Leadership** : Demonstrated ability to lead teams through technical, organizational, or process changes while maintaining engagement and productivity. + **Innovation Mindset** : Track record of fostering a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and technical excellence. + **Communication & Influence** : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences. + **Agile Practices** : Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a focus on iterative delivery and continuous improvement. + **DevOps & Observability** : Exposure to DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). + Comfortable rolling up sleeves to write code, troubleshoot complex issues, or contribute to architectural decisions when needed, without compromising team empowerment. **Inclusion and Diversity** GE Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
