The Opportunity
The People Services Software Engineering Team at Procter & Gamble is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to be responsible for creating modern employee-facing applications that deliver best-in-class experiences using industry leading technologies & methodologies. We are looking for Software Engineers with passion to design, build and deliver systems and/or applications that solve real business problems.
Position Responsibilities:
Turn technical requirements into system and/or application features by writing quality source code and delivering on time.
Design, build and leverage CICD pipelines for pushing new features to test, QA and/or production environments.
Plan, create and execute unit and integration testing before launch, and conduct functional and non-functional testing.
Write technical documentation, both internal and external, to accurately represent application design, functionality, ongoing maintenance tasks, security controls, etc.
Act as a primary mentor on running systems for the rest of the team, facilitate technical discussions and advise on quality of code, tests & documentation.
Fix bugs in system or application functionality based on continuous improvement and user-submitted problems and questions.
Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical teammates, managers, org leaders and other stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
Has strong front and/or back-end development experience
Can work independently and as a team to gather requirements and translate into solutions
Is detail-oriented and analytical in nature, with strong problem-solving skills
Has the ability to multitask and prioritize, work on multiple projects, and manage time effectively
Can produce and present technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
Can provide customer-facing support in a professional manner
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical fields.
5+ years of experience working in cloud environments with emphasis on Application Development, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred.
5+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages - Python, Java, C#, etc.
Understand front & back-end development, architecture, and security best practices.
Understand the organizational value of great documentation and spends time to maintain, update and extend existing repositories of knowledge.
Ability to give clear answers on the “why” behind technology decisions.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience with:
React and Typescript.
Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code provisioning.
GitHub and GitHub Actions.
REST APIs and Event Driven architectures.
